It is usual early Saturday when my grandmother woke me up and asked me to accompany her in Puro Boulevard. We travelled for thirty minutes away from home to our destination by jeepney. After some time, we walked along the boulevard. She always wanted to go here just to take photos and enjoy the view. Honestly, I’d rather be here in the nighttime rather than in the early morning, but today it seems it excitable to go. Puro Boulevard is a very popular tourist destination not just for visitors, but also for locals. It is located at Legazpi City, Albay. Aside from facing the Puro Beach, it is also close to Sawangan Park. The beach is covered with black sand and the sea is calming and inviting you to stay for long time. On weekends and holidays, the beach and boulevard is packed to capacity. Luckily, the weather was so fine, the sky persisted in continuing to be clear and blue; and the sea seemed bluer, indicating it was time to let us enjoyed the scenery.

The sea is free to accommodate everyone. A lot of people were are in the sea, swimming to and generally having a good time. On the other hand, there are people having their picnic, exercising, some dog owners walking their dogs, and jogging. I adore how the children are making sandcastles and how they turn their heads whenever they heard the taho vendor shouting. Furthermore, the waves were smaller, I could feel the cold breeze making me shiver and smell the ocean air with a whiff of salty air. I couldn’t kept myself from from yawning. I just put my headphones on to prevent myself from falling asleep. Maybe the good thing about this place is that there is the sea front, the Sawangan Park, and Puro Boulevard wherein all in one place to seize the day.

“Do you know why I loving going here?” my grandmother suddenly asked. I shook my head and was confused looking at her, “It reminds me that even though I’m old, the sea is more older than I am. It secretly tells me that my age is too far as the sea bluer and bluer each time I visit here.” she answered and gazed at the children at the shoreline, picking up some pebbles and rocks, giggling and laughing as if were carefree and delightful to play. I just realized how she become older everyday. She becomes more fragile. Her hair become winter-white hair, but her smile is always the same, it has always been friendly. Maybe the next time I’ll visit this place, it will never be the same. It will always remind of her – my grandmother, who always bothers me every weekend for a walk. As we decided to go home, my grandmother doesn’t forget to take some photos.
